We are very pleased to introduce our team for this year.

DINO REKANOVIC / DIRECTOR

Since 2000 he lives and works in the field of culture and art management in Vienna. He is co-founder and initiator of numerous projects, associations and initiatives. Since 2016 he has founded and directed ZIGUTAMVE. Association for contemporary photography. At the beginning of 2018 he took over the project coordination and management at the PHOTON Gallery in Vienna and represents the gallery at international fairs for contemporary photography. Dino is a freelance artist, gallery owner and curator. 

FUXI DÜRLER / EXHIBITON DESIGN

Fuxi is a visual artist based in Vienna. In his artistic practice he is exploring the relation between the viewer and the viewed, searching for ways to challenge the common perception of the world around us. Through his education at “Schule Friedl Kubelka für künstlerische Photographie” he has developed a great passion for analog technics and visions. At the festival, he is responsible for coordinating and designing the exhibition of our Open Call Winners.

SABRINA ECKERSTORFER / VOLUNTEER MANAGER

Sabrina is a visual artist and creative writer from Vienna & Montreal. Although her experience as a neuroscientist and experimental psychologist set her out to be working in a research lab, her interests for analog photography and alternative printing processes pulled her towards a different kind of lab. At Rotlicht, she has been in charge of recruiting & managing the volunteers for the festival’s galleries – in particular, for the set-up, supervision & dismounting of our HQ’s exhibitions, bookshop, bar and art market.

SELLMA FRÜHWIRTH / COORDINATION & MANAGEMENT

Sellma has a deep passion for analog photography, which she started to pursue alongside her corporate career. With over a decade of experience in operations she now combines her love for business and art. This year, she has joined our team, bringing her skills to lead various operational tasks and to support our team creatives in the art area.

HANIN HANNOUCH / CURATOR

Hanin Hannouch is Curator for Analog and Digital Media at the Weltmuseum Wien, where she is responsible for the collections of photography, film, and sound. Currently, she is writing her monograph on the history of color photography in Imperial Germany, as well as another book on the history of the photography collection at the Weltmuseum Wien.

NEREIDE KLUGER / PARTNERSHIPS

Nereide is a portuguese queer photographer who joined the Rotlicht Festival as a volunteer in 2023. 
She made her first drawings with light when she was 18 with her Minolta XE5. One year later she was spending her days under the red lights of AR.CO art school’s darkroom, and since then her passion for analog photography never faded. She has lived in several countries, engaging with different film communities. She currently works as a portrait photographer in Vienna.

MICHAEL LAUBSCH / CO-DIRECTOR

Michael is one of the few Germans living in Vienna ;-), now for almost ten years. Photography has always been an essential part of his life, although his professional focus lies more on words and civil engagement. Michael’s analog photo work focuses on reportage, documentation of social interaction and deals a lot with the heart of Europe, which for him is based in the East and South East of our continent. Since last year, Michael is part of Zigutamve and responsible for the overall coordination of ROTLICHT.

ULRIKE MAYRHUBER / GRAPHIC DESIGN

discovered her passion for analog photography at the Fotoakademie in Graz. As a final project of her studies in information design, she explored analog photographic processes and wrote the illustrated manual „Die Faszination des analogen Bildes“ as her final thesis. Today she still puts the photographic process into the center of her work. Ulrike lives and works as a graphic designer and photographer in Vienna and is part of the photolab Lumen X.

ALIZA PEISKER / PR

Aliza Peisker studied history of arts at the university of Vienna. She is a co-editor at the Vienna based online magazine Bohema, where she manages the art department. She bought her first analog camera right when she moved to Vienna in 2020 (to get the artsy Viennese student spirit) and has further developed a passion and big interest for the art of analog photography ever since.

ALEXANDER REAUTSCHNIG-PICHER / PARTNERSHIP

Alexander is a specialist in vintage cameras and lenses with a passion for analog photography, particularly early photographic techniques. Known for his exceptional communication talent, he works as a sales specialist and has been responsible for coordinating sponsorships and partnerships at Rotlicht since 2023.

AMAR TAHIROVIC / VIDEO & IT SUPPORT

Amar is a full-time video editor and video animator. He studied Media Informatics and Visual Computing at the Vienna University of Technology. He supports our team as IT specialist as well as everything regarding the video production.

FESTIVAL HELPING HANDS

THOMAS LICEK

Thomas organized and developed the Month of Photography in Vienna since its first edition in 2004. Later he became Managing Director of Eyes On – Month of Photography Vienna, and President of the European Month of Photography (EMOP).

Currently he is mainly involved in the establishing of Reflektor, a platform for self-published photobooks.

 

MAX HABDANK

Max Habdank is coming from Germany and discovered his love for Vienna and analog photography during his exchange semester in 2019. Favorite subway: U6 – Favorite camera: Nikon F3. Since then his camera accompanies him every day. During the Rotlicht Festival 2022 he will be there as a stand-in wherever help is needed and will, among other things, coordinate the artists in the different locations.

LEONARDO J. CHAMIZO

Leonardo J. Chamizo is a Director of Photography and Camera Operator based in Vienna, who specializes in music videos, art, commercials and corporate events. He is also a filmmaker with experience in documentaries and short films. Originally from Havana, Cuba, Leonardo has documented numerous music and film events collaborating with contemporary artists. Part of the 2018 Documentary Production for Film and Television by NYU (TISCH School of the ARTS) Special Programs in Havana and the Maurice Kambar Institute of Film and Television, he worked for the Ludwig Foundation in Havana. Aside from filming and photography, he enjoys music, sports and traveling.

ISABELLA JÖCH

TERHAS BERHE TAREKEGN / PHOTO & VIDEO

Terhas Berhe is a photographer and filmmaker. Her work focuses on the everyday to social issues that looks critically at notions of documentary storytelling. She is interested in the long-term processes working with other forms such as photography, video and performing art to trouble her narratives. She deeply believes that every human being has a powerful story to share if we give them time & space.

FELICE DROTT / VIDEO

Felice works as a video journalist and photographer with a growing love for analog processes. At Rotlicht Festival she portrays some of our fantastic artists and jury members via video. Her super-kraft is to find and capture “the essential glow” of a person.

ROMAN BEIER / WORKSHOP & VOLUNTEER COORDINATION

Roman Beier started out as a volunteer at Rotlicht Festival and sticked to the team ever since. His passion for analog photography began when film was still affordable and analog cameras where sold either as paperweights or collector’s items. Roman loves to print his work in the darkroom and watch the developer do it’s magic. For him, pursuing an analog craft is a way to keep calm in an ever-changing world. Besides, he just likes to take pictures on film for no particular reason.

ALESSANDRA D`INTINO / GRAPHIC & SOCIAL MEDIA

Italian photographer, story teller and graphic designer living in Vienna.

Born in Varese in 1978, she was raised with a classical education in italian literature and philosophy. She attended 1999 the University of Image, a post-secondary training school of Fondazione Industria Onlus Milan, a non-profit organization founded by the photographer Fabrizio Ferri, whose philosophy deeply influenced her way of thinking.
She worked in advertising since the first decade of 2000, both in Italy and in the German speaking countries.
Since 2013 she has dedicated herself to visual art and photography: analogue, digital and old alternative processes such as albumen print.
In the team of Rotlicht Festival she is collaborating in the Graphic Design and the Social Media Management.
