Neither here nor there

This project reflects a constant, looming threat that deforms the logic of everyday life. Born from the russian war in Ukraine this state of perpetual waiting has become a way of living. Joy is endangered, gradually replaced by invasive grief. Each happy moment feels rare — like an encounter with a vanishing species.
I use solarization, where an image becomes both positive and negative at once. This altered visual logic reflects a shifted perception of reality. By documenting daily life, I capture the surviving fragments of what once felt “normal,” and trace signs of what is yet to come — what takes shape despite conditions of extinction.
These “last” moments of joy may be the first sprouts of a new form of happiness. Maybe it isn’t vanishing — it’s simply learning to survive differently.

about the artist
I’m an artist based in Kyiv, Ukraine. I explore how war reshapes memory, perception, and everyday experience. I focus on transformation, absence, and the fragile ties between those who stayed, those who left, and those who disappeared.
