Japanese Nights

Japanese Nights is a visual exploration of Japan’s creative energy after dark. From glowing neon streets to quiet back alleys, the project captures the unique atmosphere, colors, and moments that define the night in Japanese cities. It highlights the contrast between stillness and movement, tradition and modern life, told through moody, analog photography. This series was created in collaboration with Simplex Studios, a creative collective founded by Christoph Saal and Lionel Staub. As a film photographer and co-founder, Christoph brings a strong sense for emotion, timing, and visual story telling. Simplex Studios connects artists and brands to create meaningful work, with a focus on community, collaboration, and artistic freedom.
