The 3-hour workshop offers to participants an overview of the expressive possibilities in the art of photographic images manipulation.
Direct action on photographic prints stimulates unexpected feelings and reflections, where alteration techniques become the expert guide through which the body directs the unconscious.
Actions such as cutting, painting, sewing, covering, or combining images help us to immerse ourselves in our narratives. Artistic practice thus becomes a truly personal journey, an opportunity for exploring with unexpected implications.
The workshop will be structured as follows:
– Presentation of the artist’s works, with images and exhibition itineraries;
– Brief overview of contemporary artists and photographers who experimentally manipulate photography, intertwining it with other art forms;
– Analysis of the used techniques and practical exercises on a small body of personal images.
Workshop participants are invited to bring a selection of 10 personal or family archive photographs to work on, preferably copies and not originals.
The workshop will take place with at least 2 binding registrations.
