The so-called »Gehfotografen« were active on the streets of major cities and tourist sites throughout Europe between 1927 and 1935. This gave rise to what became known in the Anglo-Saxon context as »street photography.« As everyday photography, they often had only a short-term existence and only a few examples have survived.

The scope of this collection (1500 strips) seems particularly appealing in this respect. It offers not only a comprehensive insight into everyday life in Graz in the 1920s and 1930s, but also a unique cross-section of Graz society.
